ABOUT THE SHOW
The exhibition features the work of Áine Cassidy, Liz Mller and Howard Miller & Welmoet Wartena

“In a transient and turbulent world, we try to create order out of the chaos by constructing our own individual realities. In this exhibition, three visual narratives explore the coping mechanisms and behavioural patterns of people sensitive to their current surroundings. Ideas about isolation, reconstruction and adaption within these constructed environments are expressed in the work.”

AOI Member wins ‘best in book’ for Creative Review Illustration Annual 2011

Thursday, June 23rd, 2011

AOI Member Daniel Mackie wins Best in Book in the Creative Review Illustration Annual 2011. The winning illustration was commissioned by Natmag-Rodale. Daniel Mackie abandoned photoshop in 2010. After using the software as an illustration tool for over a decade he decided that a change in direction and method was what was required to push his work further. All Daniel’s illustrations are now hand drawn and painted on 300gsm saunders watercolour paper.
